Container Owner Code

Container Owner Code is composed of four uppercase Latin letters and the last one must be U (it is the equipment identification code of the special equipment of the container). The first three are formulated by the company and registered by the BIC: Bereau of International Containers (Note: A company can apply Several box master codes). for example:

  • COSCO: CBHU
  • Mitsui:  MOLU 
  • Presidential Line:  APLU
  • Evergreen: EMCU
  • Orient Overseas:   OCLU

Container Owner Code

Note: In the past ten years, the box codes used by COSCO include: HTMU, COSU, NCLU, MINU; COSCO Changhai Huihang Company’s box codes: FBZU, CBHU, FRSU. In recent years, most of the containers used by COSCO are FLORENS containers (FLORENS is COSCO Holding Company), and the main code of the containers is CBHU.
