Code of Container Types. The old ISO standard before 1995 used two digits to indicate the type code For example, if the second line is 2210, the last two digits 10 represents the type of cabinet-closed container;

Code of Container Types

The new standard after 1995 uses An English letter plus an Arabic numeral.

  1. G0—G9: General Purpose containers (dry container)
  2. V0—V9:  Ventilated fume hood containers
  3. B0—B9:  Bulk bulk containers
  4. S0—S9:   Sample[‘sa:mpl] (sample), cabinet named after the goods name (S0: livestock; S1: car; S2: live fish) (S3—S9 spare number)
  5. R0—R9:  Reefer refrigerator, freezer containers
  6. H0—H9:  Heated thermal insulation containers
  7. U0—U9:  Up open top cabinet, open top containers
  8. P0—P9:   Platform based containers (plat form, abbreviated as PF) and platform type (flat rack, abbreviated as FR)
  9. T0—T9:   Tank Containers
  10. A0:           Air/Water/Land/ Multi-shipment containers
